Rayna Petikas

Board Certified Clinical Psychologist, Ph.D.
Board Certified Executive Coach, BCC

Hey Y’all! I am a Board Certified Clinical Psychologist and Executive Coach licensed in California, New York, Colorado, and Virginia.

I'm originally from Texas but have lived all across the country and served bi-coastally as an active duty Psychologist in the United States Navy for 7 years working primarily with Special Operations.

My clinical work focuses on treating adult anxiety and depression using effective, evidence based treatments. I enjoy helping clients clarify their career and life ambitions while helping navigate critical transition periods, which could include career changes, retirement, marriage, divorce, pregnancy, postpartum, or further academic ambitions.

I also work with couples to help them better understand and improve their relationships as well as more effectively manage conflicts and tensions, and offer non-religious pre-marital counseling for those looking to build a stronger relational foundation.

Lastly, I specialize in executive coaching. The focus of the coaching relationship is on performance optimization, talent management, development of office culture, and workplace transitions. It provides the support of a confidant, sounding board, and creation of an action plan towards self-development.

1. How long are sessions?

Most appointment times run approximately 50 minutes. Costs for longer sessions will be discussed and agreed upon prior to booking. Please note, insurance companies typically will not reimburse for sessions longer than 55 minutes.

2. Do you offer in-person and telehealth?

At this time I am only offering telehealth/virtual sessions.

3. What are your fees?

Appointment fees listed under Services & Fees are reflective of 50 minute sessions.

*Rates are increased yearly and are current through December 2024.

4. When is payment due?

An active credit card is kept on file and all payment is due in full at the time of the service.

5. What is your cancellation policy?

I kindly ask that you please remember to cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 2 business days in advance. You may call, text, or email to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you do not cancel your appointment in time or do not show to your appointment, you will be charged for the full fee. I  prioritize my clients by holding space for each person; therefore, if you late cancel or no show other clients miss out on an opportunity to be seen.

If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time.

6. Do you take insurance?

No, I do not accept insurance and am considered an out-of-network provider. You may receive full or partial reimbursement for the cost of your sessions through your health insurance if your insurance provider offers out-of-network coverage.

I will provide you with a monthly Superbill (insurance receipt) which includes a description of services and provider information so you may submit claims directly to your insurance company. Please note, I do not make any guarantees or promises that you will receive reimbursement from your insurance company for our services.

It is also good to know that there may be reasons where you would not want to use your insurance benefits for therapy. Insurance companies can dictate the number of sessions you are permitted to have. They require the assignment of a diagnosis that meets medical necessity and this may not be appropriate, necessary, or beneficial for you.  Working without insurance provides you more privacy, and gives you control over your therapy.

I recommend that you speak to your insurance company to inquire about your specific coverage and out-of-network reimbursement eligibility. Helpful questions to ask are below:

  • Do I have out-of-network coverage?

  • Is there an annual deductible that I need to meet first?

  • Do I need preauthorization?

  • What percentage do you cover for out-of-network mental health providers?

  • Is there a specific claim form that I must use to submit for reimbursement?
